Between a growing political realignment in view of the general elections of 2027, the former vice-president Atiku Abubakar, the former candidate for the presidency of the Labor Party Peter Obi and the former governor of the State-Kaduna Nasir El-Rufai are in advanced talks to reveal a new political coalition, with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) considered the choice platform.

More sources who are familiar with development have reported to Platform Times that the trio, together with other key political actors, met at the beginning of this week to finalize the discussions on the formation of a “formidable” opposition alliance.

While a Bloomberg report suggested that the leaders unanimously accepted to adopt the ADC as a vehicle of the coalition, since then contrasting accounts have emerged, indicating that no final decision has been taken.

> “They adopted the African Democratic Congress as a party of the Coalition-Tutti (Atiku, Obi, El-Rufai) are working together,” said an insider in Bloomberg anonymously. “They came to the conclusion last night until the early hours of this morning. You know that politicians meet when we sleep.”

The Insider added that during the meeting several committees were set up to manage the strategic planning and the possible public presentation of the alliance.

However, in a reconventional question, another source that participated in the same meeting told Arise News that although the ADC was one of the proposals considered, the leaders of the coalition are still weighing three possible options. These include: rEgistando a completely new political party; APDUTING AND REBRANDING OF AN EXISTING FUCK BUT LESS IMPORTANT WITH A National Structure e Watch the ADC as a ready platform.

“Three proposals were presented. We have agreed to examine the pros and cons of each option and reunited on June 30 to make a final decision,” said the source, insisting on the fact that the relationships confirmed the adoption of the ADC were “clearly false”.

In the meantime, the former secretary of the government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, during a recent interview on Arise News, excluded the possibility of using the Democratic Party of people (PDP) as a coalition vehicle.

“Nobody considered the adoption of the PDP as the platform. It is a house with an incurable virus,” said Lawal.

“No antibiotic can cure what is sick PDP and we don’t want to go to a house that we cannot change.”

Lawal revealed that a technical committee made up of legal and political experts is currently studying the feasibility of each proposal.

“We are approaching the end of the consultation phase. Very early, we will make a formal announcement on the direction we are taking,” he added.

If aimed, the alliance could reshape the opposition panorama in Nigeria and mount a more unified challenge against the All Progressives Congress sentence (APC) in the next electoral cycle.
