Bayelsa PDP releases a report on the dissolution of the Executive Committee

The Democratic People’s Party (PDP) in Bayelsa has denied the report on the dissolution of the State Work Committee led by Solomon Agwana.

Secretary of the party publicity in the state, Bpk. Ebiye Ogoli, made clarification in a statement on Wednesday in Yenagoa.

He said the report that the guard committee had been appointed to the party in the state was not true.

PDP, the South-South Zone, on Tuesday announced the dissolution of the executive committee for the party in Bayelsa and Edo stated.

PDP in a statement issued at the end of the meeting led by the Deputy Chairperson of the Party, South-South, and Orbih, said the appointment of the Caretaker Committee followed the SWC dissolution in the two states.

However, Ogoli considers the report to be naughty and ridiculous.

He said that the term of office of the former Executive Committee of Zonal PDP passed on March 13, added that to avoid vacancy, the new guard committee was appointed and formed by the National Work Committee (NWC) on the same day.

The spokesman said: “The report that the new state guard committee was appointed by the Zonal Executive Committee led by the head and orbih was not true.

“The National Work Committee (NWC) also announced the PDP Zonal Faction Congress held in Calabar, Cross River State which produced the head and orbih, as non -constitutional and cancellation.

“We also put it in the note that the exco zonal party even when it was formed correctly still lacks constitutional power to dissolve the State Work Committee from the party.”
