Bobrisky, also known as Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, has initiated legal proceedings against fellow influencer VeryDarkMan, seeking N1 billion in damages for alleged defamation.
The lawsuit centers on the recent publication of VeryDarkMan’s voice recordings, which Bobrisky claims were generated by artificial intelligence that misrepresents him and has damaged his reputation.
In a formal legal notice, Bobrisky’s legal representatives assert that VeryDarkMan consistently utilizes Bobrisky’s name and image to create sensational content aimed at increasing its own social media profile.
They argued that this pattern of behavior persisted despite warnings and should be viewed as a deliberate attempt to gain advantage by defaming Bobrisky.
The legal notice specifically addresses claims made by VeryDarkMan in a viral video, in which he accused various high-ranking officials—including the Deputy Inspector General of Police and members of parliament—of having engaged in sexual relations with Bobrisky. Bobrisky’s team highlighted that these statements are baseless and no evidence has been provided to support these serious allegations.
Additionally, the notice talks about the impact of the alleged defamatory statements on Bobrisky’s mental health and well-being. It argues that the frivolous nature of VeryDarkMan’s claims violates Bobrisky’s rights to privacy, freedom of thought, and overall safety. Bobrisky’s team expressed disappointment that VeryDarkMan was not more careful, despite the potential harm to Bobrisky and other parties named in the allegations.

The lawsuit draws particular attention to audio recordings tagged ‘Ai-generated’, which VeryDarkMan presents as legitimate conversations involving Bobrisky. The notice emphasizes that this fake audio is a clear act of defamation and demands its immediate removal from all platforms.
Bobrisky asserted that since the publication of the allegedly defamatory content, he has experienced enormous personal and professional losses, including negative media coverage and potential loss of business opportunities. The legal notice refers to a video published by VeryDarkMan on September 24, 2024, in which he threatened more damaging content if his financial demands were not met.
Based on these accusations, Bobrisky’s legal team filed several demands, including:
1. Immediate Retraction: Formal retraction of the defamatory statement and removal of any content linking Bobrisky to the AI-generated recording.
2. Public Apology: A written apology published in two national newspapers and a video apology posted on VeryDarkMan’s social media platforms.
3. Financial Compensation: Payment of N1 billion as compensation for losses caused by defamatory statements.
Bobrisky gave VeryDarkMan a 24-hour deadline to comply with these demands, warning that failure to do so would result in legal action.
