I am deeply saddened by the news of the disappearance of Professor Jubril Aminu, an illustrious scholar, diplomat and founding member of our large party, the PDP.

I remember how I was next to me during my test and my imprisonment. He has visited me several times, to demonstrate his solidarity.
He was a real elderly and very personal statesman for me.
His legacy will continue to have an impact on the countless lives he has touched and on the institutions he has helped to build. Nigeria has lost a rare gentleman and one of its best.
