Calvin Bassey out of Super Eagles friendlies

Fulham defender Calvin Bassey has withdrawn from the Super Eagles’ friendlies against Iran and Jordan.

Bassey has suffered a back injury and will therefore not be available for the matches in Türkiye.

The central defender was outstanding when the Super Eagles finished third in the last AFCON in Morocco.

The Super Eagles face Iran on Friday in Antalya, before a second friendly against Jordan four days later.

The team will hold its first training session in Türkiye on Wednesday afternoon.

Twenty-one players, including Emmanuel Fernandez, Philip Otele and Yira Sor, have reported to the training camp, with Maduka Okoye and Samuel Chukwueze being the latest arrivals.
