Charly Boy at 75: I have no regrets for my life paths

The veteran Showbiz Maestro, Charles opted, popularly known as Charlyboy, says he is not regretted to “travel his path”, including his involvement in activism, while he marked 75.

The social activist of all time declared him to Abuja on Thursday 19 June 2025.

Charlyboy, which initially aspired to become a priest, left the seminary after a year.

Charlyboy said he was an opposite of what was represented by his deceased father because he was anxious to trace his own path.

He said he opted for music and embraced the streets, unleashing the great hopes of his father for him.

He said that while his father was a legal luminary, he rebelled against the interference of his parents in his career path with the determination of fighting for the oppressed, a decision that he paid dearly, but he never regretted.

Charlyboy told how he rejected the plum work in Mobil Oil and Gas who was for him from his influential father on his return from the United States after his studies.

According to him, the refusal of that work triggered the anger and a meat that lingered between father and son for years.

He said: β€œI just wanted to get out of my father’s shade.

“I have no regrets, since the experience of life has built me ​​in a stronger and more manufactured man.”

Charlyboy said it has no regrets because it was event if there was something bad, there was a lesson to learn from.
