‘Chelsea disrespected Osimhen’: Galatasaray star urged to snub troubled Premier League giants

Former Nigeria and Lazio midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has backed Victor Osimhen to join Real Madrid amid transfer rumors linking the striker with a move away from Galatasaray.

In an interview with Brila.net, Onazi said that he believes Real Madrid would be the ideal destination for the Nigerian striker.

Osimhen has also been linked with renewed interest from Chelsea, but the parties’ recent past agreements and the club’s current situation make a move to London unlikely.

“Apart from the fact that Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world, in the last two summers, when Chelsea came, I know all the details of what happened.

“He told me everything and I’m sorry to say it, Chelsea fans, but I don’t think Osimhen is willing to go there because of what happened.

“And with the new managers, the conditions they set for signing players won’t work unless they improve or do something better in their terms and conditions.”

Onazi, however, insisted that Real Madrid would offer Osimhen the perfect environment to thrive.

“But Real Madrid will be a perfect place for Osimhen because I know Mourinho will support him.

“All we will do is wish him the best because he is our son and we must support him wherever he goes. Mourinho will make him a better player and he will have the opportunity to perform. The environment will be absolutely perfect for him.”

During his playing career, Ogenyi Onazi played in Africa, Europe and Asia, but enjoyed his most successful spell at SS Lazio, where he made over 70 appearances and won the Coppa Italia.

On the international stage, he helped Nigeria win the 2013 African Cup of Nations, participated in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and started all four matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
