‘Don’t believe lies, I haven’t resigned from ADC’, – Factional Chair, Nafiu Bala

The Chairperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Faction, Nafiu Bala, has told his supporters to ignore what he described as a fake resignation letter that is said to be associated with him, describing it as a cheating creation by political actors who are desperate and dissatisfied.

In a statement issued on Sunday in the name of the Director of the Media and Public Affairs at the National Chair Office, Dr. Christopher Okechukwu, Bala said the document was dated May 18, 2025, not written or signed by him and did not have a party official symbol.

The statement insisted that Bala had not resigned from its position as Chair of the ADC and continued to lead the party to follow the legal process as stipulated in the constitution, and emphasized that a fake resignation letter was a discretion tactic designed to disrupt the party.

National Leadership of the African Democratic Congress under the Acting Legitimate and Constitutional Recognized National Chair, Hon. Nafiu Bala, hereby issued this statement to categorize the existence of every legal resignation letter from the Nafiu party and to expose the plot that was given coordinates by former National Chairperson Ralph Okey Nafiu and to do KOC Co Counciting by former National Chairperson Ralph Oney Nafiu, an unus democratic means, “said Okechukwu.

“ADC firmly denies the authenticity of the resignation letter that is said to be written by Hon. Nafiu Bala and dated May 18, 2025. This document is fully made, cheating, and evilly circulated by certain naughty elements inside and outside our party which is trying to weaken the leadership of the ADC constitution and our temperature.

“Hon. Nafiu Bala never resigned from his position as Deputy Chairperson of the ADC, nor did he release the role of his leadership after the valid transition process described in the party’s constitution.

“Fraud documents, which do not have official letterhead, symbol, or symbol, are a despair effort to create confusion and confuse party operations.

“The constitutional leadership transition process: ADC emphasized that according to our constitution, every individual who is trying to take a leadership position must be a member registered from the party for at least one year and maintain current financial obligations and membership status and follow a reasonable process in the transition of leadership.

“The ADC leadership has identified coordinated efforts by the individual coalition seeking power, including the former national chairman, Head of Ralph Okey Nwosu, and certain external political actors, illegally taking control of the party structure that violates constitutional provisions.

“This group has tried to submit invalid documentation to the Independent National Election Commission, including a letter of resignation that was made -made, as part of a broader scheme to damage the legal leadership of ADC and impose an elected official who did not meet constitutional requirements for party leadership.”

Okechukwu asked the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) to reject unauthorized documentation and only recognize the leadership of Bala.

“The African Democratic Congress called for Inec to reject invalid documentation and only recognize legal leadership under Hon. Nafiu Bala. Party members nationally must remain aware of the wrong information campaigns.

“The general public will ignore false claims about changes in party leadership. Law enforcement agencies must investigate this effort to damage the democratic process.

“The African Democratic Congress under Hon’s leadership. Nafiu Bala remains a legal and constitutional recognized platform that is committed to the development of Nigerian democracy.”
