DSP Barau Awards Scholarships to 1,000 university students in Kano
Kano (basic reporter) The vice-president of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has assigned scholarships to 1,000 university students to study various courses at the Federal University Dutsin-ma, Katsina State.
The special consultant for the media and advertising of the Vice President of the Senate, Ismail Mudashir, in a Thursdaty declaration, on September 18, 2025, said that the awarding letters will be distributed to the beneficiaries of Kano on Saturday 20 September 2025.
He said that the scholarships scheme has been implemented through Barau I Jibrin Foundation (Bijf), which is dedicated to promoting academic excellence and providing educational opportunities to deserving students from the State of Kano.
He said that the enrollment ceremony for the beneficiaries selected by the State of Kano will be held on Monday 22 September at Federal University, Dutsin-Maa, in the State of Katsina.
Last year, the vice -president of the Senate, who is also the first vice -president of the Ecowas Parliament, sponsored 70 students to continue post -lauree studies in artificial intelligence, IT security, forensic sciences, among others, abroad.
In the same way, 300 students were selected to continue post-graduate studies in six Nigerian universities: Bayero University Kano, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, University of Ibadan, Lagos, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Fafe and University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
