The Nigeria women’s national basketball team ended its tour of the United States with a 105-57 loss to the Indiana Fever in a preseason game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Sunday.

The African champions were outplayed from the start, conceding a 32-18 first quarter lead before a dominant second quarter allowed Indiana to open up a 70-29 lead at halftime. The WNBA team controlled the pace at all times, using quick ball movement and efficient shooting to maintain control of the match.

Nigeria struggled to match its opponents’ execution, shooting just 30 percent from the field and failing to convert from three-point range, while Indiana posted over 53 percent accuracy and moved the ball effectively, finishing with 26 assists. Turnovers also proved costly, as D’Tigress committed 24, leading to 32 points for the hosts, who further extended their lead with superior transition play.

Despite some inside goals, Nigeria found it difficult to break down Indiana’s defense as the gap in cohesion and decision-making became evident against elite opposition. The result highlights the challenge D’Tigress faces as it concludes its preparations against high-level competition.
