EFCC arrested 12 alleged internet fraudsters at Akwa Ibom, Kaduna

The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has arrested 12 alleged internet fraudsters in the state of Akwa Ibom and Kaduna

The Head of the EFCC media and advocacy, Dele Oyewale, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

He said three suspects were arrested in Uyo while nine was chosen in the Sabo area in the State of Kaduna.

According to Oyewale, the three male suspects were arrested on Wednesday during the morning sting operation in Mbierebe, Stadium Road, Akpasak Estate and Oron Road, all at Uyo.

He registered items restored from the suspects to enter four cellphones, desktop computers, laptops and two cars.

“Operators at the Zonal Kaduna Directorate arrested nine alleged internet fraudsters in the Sabo area in the Capital of the State.

“The suspects were arrested on Monday, following the intelligence that can be followed up that connects them with cheating internet activities.

“Items that are restored from them include nine iPhones, 17 Android phones, four electricity banks, three necklaces, two bracelets and one headphone.

“All suspects will be charged with court immediately after the investigation is complete,” the spokesman added.
