EFCC deploys officers to check vote buying practices in Edo elections

The Economic and Financial Crimes Eradication Commission (EFCC) has deployed its officers to Edo to probe vote-buying practices in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a statement on Friday night in Abuja.

He said the commission chairman, Ola Olukoyede, tasked officers to ensure the integrity of the process.

The statement read: “The Economic and Financial Crimes Eradication Commission has deployed officers to all local government areas in Edo State to tackle voter inducement in the September 21, 2024 governorship election.

“The Executive Chairman of the commission stated that the EFCC is committed to achieving electoral integrity across the country by protecting voters from any form of financial inducement in exercising their franchise.”

“The KPU is always involved in monitoring every election process throughout Indonesia in accordance with its mandate to combat all forms of economic and financial crimes.”
