Ex-Internationals to trade contrasts with Legends Imo as Kanu Nwankwo Foundation marks the 25th anniversary

Ex-Internationals and former Super Eagles players will flake him in a friendly match against IMO legends in the field of activities that marked the 25th anniversary of the Kanu Nwankwo Foundation.
This was disclosed by the coordinator of the 2025 edition, Mo Mohammed, during a briefing with the members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (Swan), chapter of the IMO state.
According to him, the Foundation, founded in 2000, has put various activities in line to make the celebration memorable, with the football match that acts as a large culminating point.
Remarkable former International interior who expect they include Emmanuel Amuneke, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, Kanu Nwankwo, Victor Ikpeba, Uche Okechukwu, Mobi Oporaku and Obinna Nwaneri. The horns will close with IMO legends in a friendly match scheduled for Sunday 28 September 2025, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, by 15:00 the meeting should attract dignitaries for a long time and wide.
Mohammed has also revealed that the theme of this year’s anniversary is “Hope for a Health Heart Walk”. As part of the program, there will be a 5 km walk, starting from the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Center in Owerri, Monday 29 September 2025, in the morning.
In addition, the participants will be offered free medical checks, including blood pressure and cardiac projections. He stressed that the walk remains one of the best forms of exercise to maintain a healthy heart.
The coordinator also urged the support of Nigerians and Stakeholders well intent on supporting the life -saving activities of the Foundation. He appealed to the residents of Owerri and his surroundings to prove to be in large numbers both for the friendly match and for the walking on health.
Over the past 25 years, the Kanu Nwankwo Heart Foundation has carried out surgery for numerous individuals with complex cardiac condition.
