The Executive Committee of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) approved N2.6 billion for three waste management projects in the capital.
The coordinator, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Capo Felix Obuah, revealed him on Tuesday in Abuja while he informed journalists after the Committee’s meeting, chaired by the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike.
He said: βAt the meeting of today’s Executive Committee, we searched and obtained approval for ratification and the contract for the operation and maintenance of APO Extractor.

βWe have also sought and obtained approval for the extension of service contracts for the operation and maintenance of the Wupa waste water treatment plant.
“We have also obtained approval for the extension of service contracts for the provision of solid waste collection and management for 40 FCT areas, for a two -month period,” he said.
He revealed that the three projects were approved at a cost of about N2.6 billion.
The head of the staff of the Minister of FCT, Chidi Amadi, explained that 13 memo were presented to consider which were examined and approved, while three were discharged for technical reasons.
Amadi added that the nine memos have been approved to continue to deepen the infrastructure development and the update of the capital and its environment.
