The Federal Government on Wednesday received another batch of 158 illegal Nigerian migrants from Libya.
Nigeria’s Charge d’Affaires in Libya, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed, made the remarks in a statement in Tripoli.
He said the returning refugees consisted of 77 men, 45 women, 26 children and 10 babies.
The envoy revealed that 26 people arrested during raids on undocumented foreigners in Libya have been released from the Abu-Salim Detention Center in Tripoli.
He added that 1,776 Nigerians stranded in Libya have so far returned home.
Mohammed said the repatriation was a collaborative effort between the mission and Libyan authorities.

“This marks the 12th evacuation exercise conducted by the Nigerian Mission in Libya this year.
The current exercise follows the repatriation of 142 illegal Nigerian migrants from Sabha, Libya, on July 19.
“While some of them were rescued from the Mediterranean Sea by the Libyan Coast Guard, others were arrested on charges of prostitution, illegal entry, overstaying, and lack of proper documentation, while others voluntarily surrendered themselves to IOM in Libya for repatriation.
“Nigerians living in Libya, based on various indications, have had their reputations damaged by the alleged nefarious activities of some criminal elements among them,” he said.
