In an attempt to position the Terrestrial transport system of Nigeria, the Federal Government has approved the construction of six ultra modern bus terminals in the six geopolitical areas in Nigeria as part of the national public transport project.
The Minister of Transport, the Senator said Alkali, revealed him on Wednesday in Abuja while answering the field of questions by the printed at the end of the meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
Alkali observed that the six ultra -modern bus terminals are among the Legacy projects of the renewed administration of hope led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, when built and fully operational will improve travel safety, will reduce accidents and minimize the high -level illegal activities that have afflicted the country.
Adding that the project would be tools for economic, social, political and profitability development.
“This is the first time that the Federal Government invests in modern bus terminals. They have been located for profitability and economic security”.
According to the minister,
The ₦ 142.03 billion project would be located in Abeokuta-South-West, Gombe-North East, Kano-North West, Lokoja-North Central, Onesha-South East and Warri-South South Nigeria.
During the FEC meeting, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR praised the members of the cabinet for their commitment, resilience and hard work in the implementation of the administration reforms.
