FG takes control of the National Orthopedic Hospital Azare Borno Stato, Mou Di Sign in Abuja
Abuja (basic reporter) The Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Wellness and the government of the State of Borno have signed a Memorandum of understanding (Mou), officially delivering the National Orthopedic Hospital, Azare, Borno State from the Federal Government.
The signature ceremony that took place in the office of the headquarters of the Abuja Ministry; He marked a significant milestone in the current efforts to expand access to quality tertiary health care in the country, in particular in the northern region influenced by the insurrection.
Speaking to the event, the executive governor of the state of Borno, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, expressed profound gratitude for the federal government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; for the creation of a qualifying environment that has facilitated the federal acquisition of the structure.
“I want to transmit my profound appreciation to the federal government of Nigeria in a more sincere way under the distinct leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for creating a qualifying environment that has ensured the adoption of the National Orthopedic Hospital in the State of Borno,” said Governor Zulum.
The minister coordinated for health and social well -being, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate and the honorable Minister of State for Health, Dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako, for their dynamic leadership in transforming the health sector.
“This type of phenomenal growth has not been assisted in recent times. The Nigerians have to praise you in order to do more. As a governor of the state of Borno, I will continue to provide the political will to guarantee the sustainability not only of the national orthopedic hospital but of all the tertiary health institutions in the state”, he added.
Governor Zulum reiterated his administration’s commitment to support the hospital operations and ensured the federal government that Borno would have supported the spirit and letter of the memorandum of understanding.
“We will trust in what has been approved today. All the other necessary documents will be provided. Borno Stato will continue to support the National Orthopedic Hospital, azare,” he said.
Zulum has also revealed the plans by the state to build a replicant general hospital that could be converted into a federal medical center, observing that Borno remains the only state in Nigeria without a federal medical center.
Previously, the Minister of State for health and social well -being, dr. Iziaq Adekunle Salako who co-founded the memorandum of understanding on behalf of the Federal Government, praised the Governor Zulum for his proactive partnership and the support for health development in the State.
