The Federation of Mbaise Media Professionals (FMMP) has appointed its royal majesty, Eze Chidume Okoro of Rehaboth Palace, love Obia, as patron.
The investiture, held at the Monarch’s Palace, aroused important media professionals from Mbaise, leader of the community and interested parties, who joined the respected royal father in a ceremony marked with pride and cultural solidarity.
Eze Okoro, a traditional expert sovereign and a successful businessman, has held several leadership positions including the vice -president of the Council of State of the traditional sovereigns of the Eme, the president of the Council of Owerri areas of the traditional sovereigns and twice president of the Mbaise Council of traditional sovereigns. Beyond the throne, he is an international entrepreneur and employer of over 200 workers.
During the ceremony, the speakers praised his leadership, hospitality and commitment to the development of Mbaise. The president of the FMMP, his partner Patrick Chinenye Mgbaja, described him as “a responsible eze whose paternal advice will guide the Federation”. The pioneering president, the shepherd chief Christian Nwokocha, asked for stronger ties between Mbaise and his neighbors, while Ori Martins urged the monarch to support road infrastructures and development projects. The Sir Batty Kalakia head underlined the power of the media in unwinding Mbaise’s leadership and promised FMMP’s readiness to work with the royal father.
In his answer, HRM Eze Chidume Okoro expressed gratitude for recognition, noting the central role of journalists in society.
I am deeply happy that the Crème cream of Mbaise’s journalists came to pay homage. Journalists are fundamental: anyone who ignores them do it at their own risk. I humbly accept to be your patron and I will support you in every possible way, “he said.
The monarch also reflected in his leadership path, on his contributions in agriculture, employment, education, health and safety and insured of continuous partnerships aimed at lifting Mbaise through the initiatives of cultural and development diplomacy.
The event ended with a renewed commitment by FMMP and the traditional sovereign to work together for progress and the unit of Mbaise Land
