Former female leader of Gombe PDP, former commissioner, others move to APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State has received prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters who defected to the ruling party.

The defectors include Hajiya Hannatu Wakil, who served as PDP State Women Leader for eight years and later as State Organizing Secretary, former Commissioner, Hajiya Asabe Baba Nahaya, former Special Adviser, Hon. Sarki Alban and the Hon. Yila Y. Mustafa, who contested the Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency seat on the PDP platform in the 2011 and 2015 general elections.

They declared support for the APC’s 2027 state governorship candidate, Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna.

The Gwamna camp welcomed the defectors, describing the move as a major consolidation for the APC and a further affirmation of growing public confidence in Dr Gwamna’s aspiration to lead Gombe State in 2027.

Recall that recently, the former National Treasurer of the PDP, Hon. Ahmed Yayari, left the party and joined the Gwamna election team.
