Gov Adeleke condemned Osun’s communal clashes, swear justice for the population

The Governor of the State of Osun, Ademola Adeleke, on Monday, visited the Ifon, Ifon, and Erin Osun community, which was hit by conflict, condemning the destruction of large -scale property and removal of residents.

The governor, appeared to have problems with the degree of destruction, which was charged with security agents to hunt down those who were responsible for violence.

What began as a dispute between the Ifon and Ilobu community on Friday increased to full clashes, spread to Erin Osun on Saturday. Increasing tensions force the state government to force 24 hours curfew in an effort to despair to restore order.

The entire environment has been reduced to debris, with many houses on fire. Afraid of their lives, many residents have fled to the nearest cities, including Okinni, Osogbo, and Ido Osun, seeking protection.

Adeleke, accompanied by high -ranking officials, took an Apiponroro tour, where the row of buildings was located in the ruins, and the Olobu Market, which contained cruel riots. Along the way, he found a group of people who were moved internally near the Ojutu Bridge in Ilobu and along Jalan Okinni -men, women, and children forced from their homes, now under the supervision of alert security personnel.

Speaking to reporters after his assessment, the Governor praised the law enforcement agency for upholding the curfew but expressed a deep concern that the crisis could prevent investors from bringing business to Osun.

“Osun has always been a peaceful country, and I praise our security forces for their dedication,” Adeleke said.

“However, this crisis is unacceptable. When I take office, I warn that there will be no progress if the community continues to fight between themselves. Investors will hesitate to come if they think our country is not safe.”

The governor swores that his government will take decisive steps to ensure lasting peace. “We put the structure in place to guarantee that this violence ended permanently. I have directed that all responsible for being taken to court. Enough is enough – our people are dying, and I will not tolerate this again.”

Meanwhile, Ilobu Asake Development Union (IDU), a prominent body representing the native Ilobu, has asked the President of the Tinubu Bola to intervene. In an open letter dated Monday, President Idu Olumi Salako urged Tinubu to replace security personnel in the area with “competent and impartial officers” and to order the arrest of immediately “ethnic militias” accused of attacking Ilobu.

Idu also appealed to the Army Chief of Staff to mobilize troops to protect the home of the State of the late Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja and established a command and control center in Ilobu to strengthen security in Osun state.

In addition, this group called for urgent humanitarian assistance, warning that a large number of people who were moved really needed help.
