The Ondo state governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN, has forwarded a letter from medical vacation to the House of Assembly for him to resume work officially.
According to the House, the speaker, Olamide Oladiji, who received the letter on behalf of other lawmakers, said the governor’s action “is in line with Section 190(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).”
The letter, which was received Friday during the meeting of the House, indicated that the governor resumed duties on Friday, September 8, 2023, while he would be in office on Monday.
Oladiji, who expressed appreciation to God for bringing the governor back home in a healthy condition, said the people of the state were glad to see him back in office.
It would be recalled that in the governor’s letter of June 4, 2023, he had informed the House of his intention to proceed on a medical leave and later extended it on July 4, 2023.
The governor, in his letter, expressed gratitude to the lawmakers for their good wishes.
