Gov Eno hinted at PDP Exit, suggested ‘different fields’ for the future of politics

The Governor of the State Akwa Ibom, Umo Eno, has triggered political speculation by openly questioning the long -term feasibility of the Democratic Party (PDP) for his political ambitions outside 2027, implies the possibility of buying.

Speaking at the Constitutional outreach meeting at Ikot Akpankuk, the Regional Government of Ukranafun, on Tuesday, the governor used analogy of aircraft that did not function to express his concerns about PDP, showing that he might look for “different aircraft” to achieve his political goals – a statement that was widely interpreted as a code of code of transfer to all progressive congresses Congress Congress.

“If you want to travel with IBOM airlines, and on the verge of taking off, it develops mistakes that will not allow it to fly, will you not take the next plane available to bring you to the destination?” Eno asked, speaking to a large crowd at a city meeting for the constituency of federal uanfun/people and people.

His statement came in the midst of anxiety that grew in the PDP, exacerbated by the recent high profile defector, including the Governor of the State Delta Sheriff Oborevwori to APC, highlighting internal divisions and instability in the party.

Apart from this concern, Governor Eno urged his supporters to remain focused on administrative objectives, emphasizing his commitment to service delivery.

As part of the involvement of constituents, the governor distributes empowerment packages to more than 400 constituents, including grants for traders and farmers, substantial funding for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and equipment support. Specifically, 154 traders received grants, 116 farmers were supported, four people received ₦ 5 million each for business development, and 131 benefited from equipment support.

Governor Eno advised the beneficiaries to use funds wisely, reminding investment in the Ponzi scheme or other unproductive businesses. “We need to meet people from time to time. The government does not end in the election,” he said. “We are here to listen, judge your needs, and tell you what we have done and what we plan to do.”

Eno also revealed that his government had completed outreach in four of the ten state federal constituents and ensured that all electoral districts would be borne in time to include their needs into the 2026 budget. “We will review your requests and prioritize based on available resources. What we cannot do now will be considered in the future budget,” he added. “This government belongs to people – that is for you, with you, and by you.”

While Governor Eno has not yet made a declaration of formal defeats, his comments have intensified political discussions about changes in dynamics in Akwa IBOM countries and broader national opposition landscapes.
