Hamas has approved the agreement of a ceasefire hostage with Israel, according to a senior official.
Egyptian and Qatar mediators have held talks with Hamas in their latest efforts to mediate a ceasefire with Israel in Gaza.
Hamas officials do not provide further details of the agreement or what has been received.
Hamas has responded positively to such an agreement in the past, while proposing amendments that were proven unacceptable by Israel.
International Correspondent Sky Diana Magnay in Jerusalem said the agreement seemed to be similar to the plan proposed by the Middle East messenger Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, for a 60 -day ceasefire agreement.
“What we understand from Hamas, in connection with this agreement, is that it will be within the framework of a 60 -day ceasefire, but it will be a liberation of prisoners and prisoners in two parts.
“What we understand from the Arabic channel is that Hamas agrees without big changes,” he said.
A source of Egyptian officials told Reuters that, during the ceasefire, there would be an exchange of Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the release of half of the Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
There has been no news from Israel about the proposed ceasefire.
Diana Magnay said it was clear that the mediator from Egypt and Qatar, had the potential to be together with Hamas, feeling under pressure because of Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to push further to the city of Gaza, “and that is why you have a mediator during the weekend in Cairo trying to get a kind of plan on the table.”
“So the big question is, will Benjamin Netanyahu approve this? We must see whether it is his intention at any point to approve the ceasefire or whether this is late now and he will use the opportunity to encourage in Gaza,” he added.
Earlier on Monday, US President Donald Trump seemed to doubt the peace talks.
“We will only see the return of the remaining hostages when Hamas is confronted and destroyed !!! The faster this happens, the better the chances of success,” he posted on the social site of his truth.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said the mediators had “mobilized broad efforts” to revive US proposals for a 60-day ceasefire, where hostages would be released and parties would negotiate the eternal suspension of violence.
