Hugo Broos Confident Bafana Bafana a Better Team Since AFCON

Broos, who took charge of the team in 2021, has instilled a sense of belief and unity within the squad.

Despite drawing their recent friendlies against Andorra (1-1) and Algeria (3-3), the Belgian remains optimistic about his team’s development and readiness to compete at the highest level against formidable African adversaries.

Reflecting on South Africa’s recent performances, Broos commented, “We played against a very strong team, but I do not think there was much difference between the quality of our game and the quality of the game in Algeria. That means we have progressed in the last few months.

“We already showed that in the AFCON, and we did it again against Algeria. So, I don’t think we have to be afraid anymore of playing against any team in Africa.”
