Hundeyin accused Yahaya Bello of involvement in illegal mining, drugs and arms candidacy for governor

Investigative journalist, David Hundeyin has accused former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello of making a fortune by engaging in illegal mining, drug trafficking and arms sales when he was governor of the state.

Hundeyin, who made the allegation in a post on personal.

The post read:

“Weapon? Drugs? Illegally mined minerals? All of the above? This is how Yahaya Bello acquired immense wealth as governor of Kogi State; BTW – illegal mining of solid minerals in Isanlu-Egbe, which are smuggled to Dubai and other places using private jets with transponders turned off. It’s not even a secret.”

The post got a lot of X users talking and many of them agreed with Hundeyin. Some people also attributed the inability of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest and prosecute Bello to his high-ranking associates in the alleged illegal business.

“This is why the EFCC will never touch it, its minions will do anything to protect it, Nigeria is a den of thieves and all security agencies are part of those actively sabotaging this country.”

@Emmato13: “@DavidHundeyin that’s just the tip of the iceberg, what happened in Zamfara & Sokoto. Gold is exported to Dubai daily via sokoto airport, Kano, Abuja & by road to republic of Niger & Benin, Kebbi (Dole Kaina & Dole-Faransi) Zurmi Zamfara & Sokoto (Illela). The government supports.”

@Utchb2k1: “Nigeria is a crime scene. When I saw people here applauding the Zamfara governor for his willingness to fight “banditry and cattle rustling”, I just laughed. The problem is large gold deposits. It is the same with tin in Ebonyi state. Not to mention crude oil.”

@AdemoyeJohn: “This is what former colonial masters or heavy users of slave labor would have wanted. You remember “keeping the resources flowing” in Africa. Every effort is being made to ensure Nigeria is unsuccessful, because they will no longer get what they want.

@Otakerioghenero: “Illegal mining of solid minerals in organized crime. The government is aware that . Otherwise, it will be closed.”

@Sammystarga: “A lot of things are happening in Nigeria, illegal mining, drug dealers and arms sellers like people who are going against customs in their offices and many more.”

@Ujubirds: “If they can’t pick someone with a questionable background, this one is nothing because he learned from the best. The EFCC says the system supports it. Who is the system? A different city hall.”

@Initheking: “Wherever there is insecurity in this country, people in government take advantage of those places, and they don’t want the public to know about it.

@BrainKing: “This is not news na..this has been happening for years. This is how some billionaires are made and not an actual ritual as many people think 😀
