“I remain Member PDP”: Atiku denies the defection on APC

Former vice -presidents Atiku Abubakar denied downloading the Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress sentence (APC).

Atiku, the candidate for PDP presidency in the 2023 elections, made him known in a declaration issued by his media office on Saturday 8 March 2025.

The office described the reports of the defection of Atiku as without foundation and illogical, saying that it has no factual bases.

The office added that Atiku remains a loyal and active member of the PDP.

“We have noticed some platforms that spread not verified statements on Abubakar that leaves the PDP,” he said.

The former vice -president has constantly requested a coalition of opposition parties for the general elections of 2027.

‘Attack on Democracy’: Atiku condemns the invasion of Lagos assembly.

Attiku’s goal for the coalition is to challenge the APC and offer the Nigerians a new political direction in 2027.

The office said: “Abubakar is supporting a large coalition, including the PDP.

“The accusation of Abubakar who leaves the PDP is false and goes against his continuous efforts for the opposition unit.”

The ATIKU media office stressed that the statements were intended to mislead the Nigerians regarding the meaning of the coalition in saving Nigeria from the APC domain.
