IBOM Air management has banned passengers identified as Comfort Emmanson for attacking members of the airline crew in the state of Akwa Ibom.
This incident occurred a few days after Fuji’s music star, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall created a similar drama at Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, last Tuesday.
Emmanson created a scene at Uyo Airport on Sunday when he attacked the cabin crew and airport security in a surprising air and tarmac incident.
Ibom Air gave a detailed report on the incident in a statement on Monday.
The airline said the passenger was instructed in accordance with standard flight safety procedures to turn off his cellphone, but he frankly refused to comply with orders.
The airline noted that Emmanson’s actions became serious to threaten the safety of crew, passengers and aircraft.
Therefore, he has a travel limit on passengers for disturbing behavior and attacks on his crew members.

The statement reads: “He frankly refused to obey it until the pilot-in-command made the announcement, after which a colleague was sitting next to him to take the phone and turn it off. This action pushed verbal nagging from Ms. Emmanson. The situation finally calm down, and the flight left on the schedule.”
“Upon arrival at Lagos, MS. Emmanson waited for all other passengers to go down and then continued to face the pursuers who had previously instructed it.
“He is said to have walked to the chasing that is not suspicious, stepped on him, forcibly tore his wig, take off his glasses and throw it on the floor, and use his footwear to attack him.
“He slapped him several times, and when other cabin crew members tried to intervene, he also slapped him.
“He then tried to force off the fire extinguisher to be used as a weapon, actions that could damage and ground the aircraft.”
“At this moment, the pilot-in-command has given the safety of the airport. Before security can arrive, pursuers, as seen in the viral video on the internet, prevents passengers from leaving the aircraft until security arrives.
Viral video footage shows the pursuers that prevent the exit until the airport security arrives. But instead of calm down, he attacked the safety personnel of Ibom Air and Faan, slapped and kicked them, and even attacked the airline’s land supervisors.
“The arrival of Ibom’s air security personnel did not prevent passengers when he attacked them as well, attacking hard both on the safety of Ibom and Faan. He was then detained and expelled from the plane by force. Even after getting off, he continued to attack both the IBom Air and Faan security staff, and even slapped the dacibisor”.
Passengers were removed from the road and detained by Faan Security and handed over to the Nigerian Police for further investigation.
The airline has submitted a report on the incident to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and placed travel restrictions on Ms. Emmanson, who will no longer be allowed to fly on one of our planes.
Ibom Air reiterates the zero tolerance policy on all forms of behavior that cannot be regulated or violence that threatens the safety of passengers, crew, or equipment. Such behavior will be filled with the strongest responses that are possible, including legal actions and permanent restrictions from our services.
The carrier praised the courage and professionalism of his crew in handling this situation in a very challenging condition, as well as fast support from the security of airports and Nigerian police.
“Safety remains our highest priority. We urge all passengers to comply with crew instructions at any time for the safety, safety and comfort of everyone on the ship,” he added.
