Int’l Youth Day: Group gift laptop, cash for ICT trainees

The YES Katsina initiative has held a five -day ICT training and presented laptops, cash prizes and certified to participants who successfully completed training in modern technology, using tics for the empowerment of young people and social transformation in Katsina.

The program went from 3 to 9 August, starting from an exciting opening ceremony in which the Katsina Football Academy honored the event with an exciting football match at the Muhammadu Dikko stadium.

On August 4, the training was officially declared open by the permanent secretary, by the Ministry of Youth and sports development, giving the tone for a week of impact learning.

The five -day formation, the themed “Information Technology for the Empowerment of young people and the social transformation in Katsina”, ended on Saturday 9 August, in the conference room of the information development agency and the state communication of Katsina (Kats).

The occasion was embellished with special guests of honor, including the beloved parents of the founder. Aliyu Jari and Hajiya Habiba Abubakar Bazariye, commissioner for the development of youth and sport Hon. Aliyu Lawal Zakari (represented by his permanent secretary, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Rabiu).

Others are: President of the Youth Council of Ecowas (represented by Amb. Olaleru Folorunsho), DG Katdicte Navefal Ahmad (represented by Ta to his excellence on ICT Aliyu Kabir Bugaje), dean of student affairs Nana Babajo College of Nursing Sciences and Dean of Yusufu Usman College of General Studies.

The organization urged graduates to put their new skills acquired as a means of self -sufficiency and contribute to the development of the State of Katsina, also praying for the continuous success and expansion of the YES Katsina program beyond expectations.

The father of I yes Katsina, Engr. Aliyu Jari, he said: “Like his father, and on behalf of his mother, we are proud not only of what he has achieved, but of what he has become. Today, seeing it being here, it comes to mind that my greatest blessing is his father.

“We saw her grow from a curious little girl, full of questions and laughter, in a strong young woman, graceful and determined. He faced challenges with courage, embraced learning with passion and brought herself with kindness and dignity.”

Speaking on behalf of the commissioner for the development of youth and sport, the permanent secretary assured the founder, Amb. Asma’u Aliyu Jari, the Jagaban Matasa, which the ministry grants me Katsina as a model initiative that will be emulated and supported for the benefit of all the significant young people in the state.

He added that the skills of the acquired TICs would contribute to the progress of the state and the nation, since technology is fundamental for the economic growth and the empowerment of young people.

The president of the Ecowas Youth Council urged the state government of Katsina to give Amb. Asma’u Jari plus space, more resources and more opportunities to do what it does best, because every investment in its vision is an investment in the future of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the general manager of Katdicte, the technical consultant of the Governor of the Tic, Aliyu Kabir Bugaje, observed that the initiative offered precious opportunities to young people to improve their knowledge.

He encouraged graduates not to wait for the government to offer them jobs, but to innovate and create solutions that could improve their means of subsistence and their communities.

In his closing observations, the coordinator and founder of the YES Katsina project, the Ambassador Asma’u Aliyu Jari, advised graduates to evaluate the knowledge and prizes they have received, transforming them into tools for self -sufficiency in the world led by today’s technology.

In particular, those who received laptops managed to manage them responsible in particular and use them for personal growth and community benefit.

He expressed gratitude to the state government of Katsina under the governor Dikko Umar Radda, Katdict, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Kaseda, Ecowas Youth Council, special consultant on the development of the community, for their efforts in supporting the project and prayed for the home of everyone’s back.

Other speakers who honored the event included a representative of the Emirate Council of Katsina, the Galadiman Arewa Alhaji Isyaku Ado, the president Wapa Investment Ltd (represented by Alhaji Auwal Ladan Wapa) and other key interested parties in the development of ICTs and young people.
