Zelensky: Russia sends intelligence to Iran to prolong the war in the Middle East

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says Russia is passing information to Iran in an attempt to prolong the war in the Middle East.

Citing the Ukrainian military intelligence service HUR, Zelensky said in his video address on Monday evening that there is further evidence that Russia continues to support the Iranian leadership with intelligence.

The president, however, did not provide details.

Zelensky also said he had been informed by SBU intelligence, adding that Russia’s war against Ukraine must not be allowed to take advantage of the geopolitical situation and the oil price crisis.

He thanked Ukrainian soldiers for the “precision” of their attacks on Russian oil facilities, which are vital to Moscow’s war coffers.

The president also warned Ukrainians that Russia may be planning a major attack, citing intelligence information.

Ukraine has been fending off a full-scale Russian invasion since February 2022.
