Thursday the government of Japan has appointed the city of Kisarazu as hometown for the Nigerians willing to live and work in the country as part of its strategic efforts to deepen cultural diplomacy, promote economic growth and improve the productivity of the workforce.

The artisans and other blue -collar workers from Nigeria who are ready for Upskill will also benefit from the visa for the special pantry to work in Japan.
Japan International Cooperation Agency, in a ceremony, also appointed the cities of Nagai in the prefecture of Yamagata in the hometown of Tanzania, Sanjo in the prefecture of Niigata in the hometown of Ghana and Imabari in the prefecture ehime in the hometown of Mozambique.
Through the agreement, Japan tries to strengthen exchanges with the four African countries by officially connecting the municipalities with existing relations with those nations.
The accusation of the Nigeria d’Affires, Mrs. Florence Akinyemi Adeseke, also the interim ambassador to Japan, and Yoshikuni Watanabe, mayor of Kisarazu, received the certificate from the Japanese government that appointed Kisarazu in the native city of the Nigerians.
The four cities will promote a two -way exchange base for the development of the workforce that will add value to the economic growth of Japan, Nigeria and the other three African nations.
Local authorities hope that the designations will increase the population of their cities, contributing to their regional revitalization efforts.
Kisarazu was the official host city of the Nigerian contingent for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The team led their pre-match training camps and acclimatization in the city before moving to the Olympic village, in the delayed Olympic games of Covid-19.
In his opening speech to Ticad9, where he announced $ 5.5 billion in new investments in Africa, the Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba underlined the importance of mutual understanding, local solutions and collaborative efforts for the development of Africa. The prime minister outlined the attention of Japan on sustainable growth of the private sector, the Empowerment of youth and women and regional integration.
Prime Minister Ishiba recognized Japan aging challenges, but stressed that radical solutions are essential for the development of Africa.
“Japan is providing various cooperation and support for Africa. But first of all, Japan must know more about Africa. Therefore, in creating solutions together, this co-creation at Ticad 9, we focus on three important areas: sustainable growth in private guidance, young people and women and regional integration and connectivity inside and beyond Africa”.
He appealed to African countries to help Japan while preparing with the challenges of a decline population and the reduction of agricultural lands.
