Jewish leader in Germany “torn” by Washington Shooting

The head of the Central Council of the Jews in Germany said that his heart was “pieces in pieces” by the killing of two employees in the Israeli embassy in Washington.

Prime Minister Josef Schuster told DPA Thursday that his thoughts were with the families of the victims.

He said he had just returned from Israel, where the representatives of Jewish organizations around the world declared to attend the spread of hatred against the Jews and Israel.

“Just one day later, this was confirmed in the most tragic way.

“The increase in political and anti -Semitic violence, even in western societies, is shocking and threatening,” said Schuster.

The employees of the Israeli missions are also in particular at risk in Germany, Schuster said.
