JUSUN commends Uba Sani for judicial welfare and judicial infrastructure


The Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kaduna State Branch, has commended Governor Uba Sani for what it described as unprecedented support to the judiciary through improved staff welfare and investment in judicial infrastructure.

In a statement signed by its President, Comrade Auwal Sarki, the union said the governor has demonstrated strong commitment to strengthening the administration of justice since taking office.

JUSUN listed the governor’s interventions including the approval and payment of the accompanying allowance for all categories of judicial personnel, the payment of two months’ salary withheld for April and May 2021 inherited from the previous administration, and the approval of vacation and transportation subsidies for judicial workers from the time he assumed office until 2025.

The union added that the grant is expected to be paid soon.

He also lauded the state government’s approval and ongoing renovation of the Kaduna State Judiciary Headquarters, including the High Court of Justice, the Shari’a Court of Appeal, the Customary Court of Appeal and the Judicial Service Commission, at a cost of over ₦2 billion.

According to the union, Governor Sani also approved the payment of other outstanding dues owed to judicial officers and judicial staff across the State.

JUSUN said the interventions reflect the governor’s respect for the independence of the judiciary, commitment to the welfare of judicial personnel and determination to strengthen the delivery of justice in Kaduna State.

“The Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Kaduna State Branch, sincerely appreciates these unprecedented interventions and assures His Excellency of the continued support and cooperation of the judicial staff in promoting efficient, effective and timely administration of justice,” the statement read.

The union prayed that God would grant the governor wisdom, strength and good health to continue providing democratic dividends to the people of Kaduna State.
