The ancient Kabowei Kingdom, spanning Delta to Bayelsa states, joyfully celebrates the Nigerian Army (NA) for inaugurating a significant project in their community.
Acting Deputy Director of 6 Division Army Public Relations, Major Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, shared that the Pere of Kabowei Kingdom, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Barrister Peremobowei Shedrack Erebulu, the Adoo III, expressed deep appreciation to the NA, noting that it’s the first such project in their kingdom.
The momentous occasion took place during the inauguration of a multipurpose hall and borehole in Tawari, Patani Local Government Area of Delta State by Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
Major General Jamal Abdussalam, representing the CoAS, attended the event as the General Officer Commanding 6 Division/Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force, South South, Operation DELTA SAFE.
King Erebulu praised Major General Preye Fakrogha, a distinguished son of Kabowei Kingdom, for his 35 years of meritorious service in the NA, which culminated in this remarkable project for his community.
The CoAS emphasized the unity of Nigerians in confronting security challenges and highlighted the NA’s recent efforts to undertake quick impact projects in various communities.
This initiative extended to Tawari village as part of the CoAS’s special intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Project.
Major General Preye Fakrogha (rtd), the project’s initiator, chose to give back to his hometown by establishing this project.
He encouraged fellow sons and daughters of the kingdom to support such initiatives, stressing their collective responsibility in developing the kingdom.
The inaugurated projects include a borehole and an ultra-modern multipurpose hall named after the late Pastor Mrs. Tersoo Preye Fakrogha, the initiator’s wife.
The event’s highlights featured homage paid by the GOC and his entourage to the Pere of Kabowei at his Palace, a captivating Ngusei cultural dance performance, gift item presentations, and souvenirs.
This historic event was attended by Major General Nosa Ugbo, Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Nigerian Army, as well as Commanders of 16 and 63 Brigades, among other Service commanders.
Council chiefs of Kabowei Kingdom, local government officials, and well-wishers also graced the occasion.
