… match against Remo Stars moved to ABA
Kun Khalifat FC has announced that their appointment of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Week Against Remo Stars will now hold on Monday 1 September at the Enyimba Stadium, ABA, following renovation works in progress at the Danny Stadium, Owerri.
The club has also revealed that the following home games will be played on Friday or Saturday, depending on the programming of the championship.
However, besides the adjustments of the day, Kun Khalifat FC raised the alarm for his financial struggles in competing at the highest level. The CEO, Michael Chukwudi Amaefule, admitted that the requests to support an NPFL campaign – estimated at ₦ 1 billion – have become overwhelming.
Amaefule appealed to the IMO state government, to the company sponsors, to the football stakeholders and the Nigerians well willing to gather behind the club to support his historic ascent from the Nationwide League One (NLO) through the Nigeria National League (NNL) and now at the NPFL.
“This is not cowardice but responsibility. We want the imolites to continue to enjoy high -level football. With your support, we can support our NPFL status and climb to greater heights,” said Amaefuple.
Zido Sport TV, reacting to development, observed that football transcends 90 minutes on the pitch. “These are survival, pride and community standing together,” the station observed.
