Lagos government reduces blue line train fares by 25%

The Lagos State Government has reduced the blue line mass transit fares by 25 per cent.

However, discounts will be available to passengers travelling during off-peak periods, namely 10.00am and 4.00pm daily.

In a statement released by the country’s Ministry of Information and Strategy on Saturday, the government revealed that the Blue Line will increase its number of trips from 54 to 72 per day starting Monday.

He added that passengers will now travel between Marina and Mile 2 in just about 18 minutes from the previous 25 minutes.

“However, the current Sunday operating schedule remains unchanged.

“The new train schedule is expected to reduce travel time, encourage more passengers to use the train during off-peak periods, and reduce transportation expenses. The new schedule is available on the LAMATA website, stations, and social media accounts,” the statement added.
