Acting Chairperson of the Labor Party (LP), Senator Nenadi Esther Usman, has described the claim by the former National Party Chairperson, Julius Abure, that he remains the party chairman of the party as “ridiculous and insulting” for Nigerian intelligence and loyal parties.
His reaction came after clarification by the Independent National Election Commission (Inec), about the status of party leadership that described Abure as a former party leader.
In the previous post about its official X grip on Friday, Inec had clarified that they were not pronounced or restored with the National Labor Party Chair after the National Work Committee led by Abure (NWC) announced the suspension of Governor Alex Otti from Abia State and five other party members.
But Abure has released a statement in which he insisted that he remained the party’s authentic chair and urged members to ignore the previous report that he had been deleted.
But in a post in the Holder X verified on Saturday night, Usman said Abure and his click on themselves as LP leaders despite not having a legal position, moral credibility, and institutional support to do so, aimed at destroying the party for their selfish benefits.
He reiterated that the party belonged to people and not for some cabins whose main purpose was to destroy it.
In the post entitled, “Re: Inec clarification about the leadership status of the Labor Party,” Usman emphasized that Abure’s term of office and legitimacy had long been expired, and that there was no manipulation or media propaganda that could revive the dead mandate.

“The Independent National Election Commission (Inec), through the official handle of X (previously Twitter), today openly clarified that they did not announce or restore Julius Abure as the National Labor Party Chairperson,” he wrote.
“This ambiguous stress, which is released in real-time and without delays, goes to the heart of this problem and describes falsity and despair that continues to originate from Mr. Abure and its collaborators.
“We stated firmly and without a relaxed: Mr. Julius Abure is a former national chairman of the labor party. The term of office and legitimacy has long ended, and there is no number of manipulation, media propaganda, or unauthorized press briefing can revive the dead mandate.
“This is ridiculous and insult the intelligence of the Nigerians and the faithful party that Mr. Abure and his click continue to parade as party leadership despite not having a legal position, moral credibility, and institutional support.
“The Labor Party is not a private company; that is a democratic vehicle, built and maintained by the people’s collective will.
“Therefore, we reject the totality of false news sold by Mr. Abure and his own circle. We both call all party members, civil society, and the general public to ignore wrong information and stand with truth and justice.
“As an acting chairman of the Labor Party, I reiterate our commitment to remain rooted in integrity, transparency, and rule of law, not in robbers or media actions.
“Let it be known: the era of impunity is over. The Labor Party belongs to the people, not for a secret gang.”
