Göztepe midfielder Anthony Dennis is among the players the Super Eagles coach has included in his squad for the upcoming Unity Cup tournament in May, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Chelle will use the tournament to give fringe players a place in his team, as well as talented players from low-rated European leagues, which also include players from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Dennis, who made the preliminary list of Nigeria’s senior team for the African Cup of Nations but did not make the final 28-man squad for the tournament, has been attracting attention since moving to Turkey in January 2023.
Villarreal view the €10m 21-year-old as an ideal signing to boost their midfield next season, and doubts remain over the future of Thomas Party, who has not reached the heights expected of him when he arrived in the summer on a free transfer from Arsenal.
He will be given the opportunity to claim a place in the Super Eagles squad for the high-profile friendly matches in June against Poland and Portugal respectively.
