The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Olufemi Oluyede, has challenged the people of Yobe and Borno States to end terrorist attacks in Nigeria, claiming that most of the perpetrators of such acts in the North Eastern part of the country are from the two states.
He made the claim on Wednesday when speaking to journalists shortly after his arrival in Borno State following several suicide bomb attacks in the state a few days earlier.
President Bola Tinubu has directed security chiefs in his country to go there following the incident.
Responding to a question as to why terrorism was rampant in the region, General Oluyede said the people of Borno and Yobe States must take responsibility for the issue to end the menace.

According to him, most of the perpetrators of terrorism in the region came from Borno and Yobe states.
“There has been an increase in attacks in the North East in the last month. This is nothing new as they often occur during Ramadan. But we are here today to ensure that this will not happen again in the future.
I must say something very important: for us to end these acts of terrorism, the people of Borno State and Yobe State must take responsibility for this problem. Since most of the people who committed these heinous acts are from this state, they are our brothers and sisters.”
“For example, basically, the two people who came to attack Kukuwa, who were injured, were inside the village; that means the community is involved. Our community has to resolve this; this has to end, and we have to take responsibility for this problem.
