AS Roma boss, Jose Mourinho was full of praises for his defenders for their excellent performance against Victor Osimhen.

Roma’s defeated Napoli 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico and leapfrogged the champions to sixth place on the table.

 

 

Osimhen endured a difficult time on the pitch, losing number of duels to Diego Llorente and Gianluca Mancini and later saw a red.

“After a tough week of training and a coach who was perhaps too harsh on them, I found players who were more prepared for the battle.

“Ndicka won more duels, Llorente had so much trouble against Zirkzee and yet today with Osimhen he won many individual duels.

“Gianluca Mancini did not train all week, he is in pain, but he did it for the team. He is a champion,” Mourinho said after the full time whistle.

Victor Osimhen has struggled to replicate his incredible run of form he had last season, scoring just seven goals in thirteen league games for Napoli.

Following defeat to Roma, Napoli go into Christmas in seventh place.
