Musa to return for FIFA World Cup qualifiers

Skipper Ahmed Musa hopes to return to the Super Eagles fold after being omitted from the squad thatโ€™ll face Sao Tome and Principe this weekend.

Musaโ€™s omission from the squad for the African Cup of Nations qualifying tie was a surprise to the fans.

Although the winger sustained an injury during Sivassporโ€™s first league game of the campaign against Samsunspor on August 8, but he returned to play 64 minutes against Samsunspor last weekend.

โ€œThank you very much, I appreciate you checking up on me, I hope to be back soon for the World Cup qualifiers,โ€ Musa told BBC Africa Sports.

โ€œItโ€™s my dream to play in another World Cup. I believe we have a squad that is equally determined to qualify.

Speaking on the match, Musa is confident his teammates will record another win over the visitors.

โ€œWe all know the importance of the game, so we are not going to take that easy because we know the opponents,โ€ he continued.

โ€œWe are playing at home. Insha Allah, we are going to win the game and focus more on the World Cup qualifiers. We know what Nigerians always want.โ€ He concluded.

The Super Eagles won the first leg 10-0 in Morocco.
