Music star Yemi Alade unveils beauty brand in Lagos

Music superstar Yemi Alade unveiled her highly anticipated beauty brand, Yem Beauty, during its inaugural pop-up experience recently at Laura Beauty Store, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.

The event marked a vibrant introduction to the brand’s signature matte lipstick collection and positioned Yem Beauty as a bold and inclusive cosmetics line.

The pop-up attracted a constellation of Nigerian entertainment and media figures, including Don Jazzy, Mo Abudu, Kate Henshaw, Nancy Isime, Osas Ighodaro, Tolu “Toolz” Oniru, Waje and Bolanle Olukanni, along with influencers, beauty enthusiasts and industry insiders.

Guests spent an immersive afternoon of beauty, networking and celebration, experiencing the brand firsthand in a curated and expressive environment that reflected Yem Beauty’s vibrant identity.

Adding a touch of luxury to the event, world-celebrated French sparkling wine Luc Belaire served both his signature bottles and stunning 1.5-litre Magnum editions, specially presented to honor the launch of Yem Beauty.

In a statement during the event, Yemi Alade, who wowed attendees with a custom MSO Lagos outfit, explained the inspiration behind the brand:

“Yem Beauty was born out of my personal journey as an artist and everyday makeup artist. I wanted products that truly matched my skin tone, enhanced my natural beauty, and could keep up with my lifestyle. When I couldn’t find them consistently, I set out to create them. This brand is for everyone, regardless of skin tone or type, to feel seen, confident, and empowered.”

Yem Beauty emphasizes artistry, individuality and premium quality. The initial collection features vibrant, long-lasting matte liquid lipsticks and nourishing lip glosses, crafted to enhance self-expression without compromise. At its core, the brand celebrates inclusivity, trust and fearless creativity.

Yem Beauty encourages consumers to embrace their uniqueness and “color the world” on their own terms, reflecting Yemi Alade’s vision of a brand that resonates across skin tones, lifestyles and personalities.

The launch not only positions Yem Beauty as a new player in Nigeria’s booming cosmetics market, but also cements Yemi Alade’s influence as a cultural icon that extends beyond music into beauty, empowerment and self-expression.
