The National Agency for Drug and Medicine Administration and Control (Nafdac) has issued a public warning about our 12G “milk” fake cowbell sachet circulation in Nigeria.
In a statement released on Friday, the agency said the holder of marketing authorization and brand producers, Promasidor Nigeria Ltd., had told the fake product, which was very similar to original cowbell milk.
According to Nafdac, fake products illegally have brand names, packaging design, Nafdac registration number, and the original trademark. Promasidor confirmed that the packaging design copied by the last counterfeit was used for production in September 2023 and emphasized that the product was not produced or distributed by the company.
The agency highlights a clear difference between original and fake products. This explains that authentic cowbell milk comes in packaging with PNG art that is revised with the slogan “our cream goodness.” The original sachet also carries the details of the batch printed with laser technology in the designated coding area, with automatic sealing and cutting on the vertical side.
Conversely, the fake version is described as not like milk. The packaging uses our outdated PNG artwork “,” with details of the batch printed in ink rather than laser. Nafdac noted that coding appeared in the wrong sachet, while sealing and cutting on the vertical side was carried out manually.
