NEC Rolls Out Renewed Hope Plan, set a roadmap for the $ 1TN economy in 2030

The National Economic Council (NEC) has launched a framework to encourage Nigeria towards an economic achievement of $ 1 trillion in 2030, through the plan to develop the latest expectations (2026-2030).

The blueprint, announced at the 151st council meeting on Thursday, seeks to consolidate administrative economic reform while aligning the medium-term strategy with the long-term vision of the country under the Nigerian 2050 agenda.

A statement signed by Stanley NKWocha, a senior special assistant for the President of the Media and Communication (Vice President’s Office), Vice President Kashim Shettima, who knocked NEC, described the transition as a decisive moment for the development of Nigeria.

“Another main consideration today is the end of the 2021-2025 National Development Plan and its successor preparation, the latest hope plan 2026-2030.

“This, for us, is not an ordinary transition. This is a bridge between the lessons learned and the ambitions being pursued. The new hope plan will consolidate the ongoing reform, deepen the continuity of the policy, and harmonize our medium -term strategy with the long -term horizon of the Nigeria 2050 agenda. This is a practical roadmap towards the $ 1TN economy in 2030,”.

The Vice President stressed that the plan would not be a top-down effort but a participatory process that involved all levels of governance and society.

“Even more important is that this plan will not be taken from the Gading Abuja Tower alone. This will be a participatory. We will continue to involve the state governments, regional governments, organized private sectors, civil society, labor, youth, and traditional institutions, and conversations begin here today,” he said.

NEC praised the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning to pioneer the process and urge the active participation of all states and stakeholders to ensure inclusiveness and accelerate growth.

In addition to the development road map, Shettima announced a new intervention in agriculture, revealed that naseni has expanded the local production of solar powder pumps to support farmers.

“This is the story of the state rejection to be held hostage to the gasoline -powered system. This is an intervention to reduce the energy costs of farmers, expand the agriculture of the dry season, and strengthen food security,” he said.

In the mandate of the problem solving, Shettima urged members to remain focused on giving real results for the Nigerians.

“Leading colleagues, you have confirmed that this council is not an applause stage. You are the reason that is a workshop for a solution. Let this 1511 echhoe as a continuation of our agreement.

“Let it be remembered not only for the problem raised but for the determination shown. Let it move from the room to the community, from rhetoric to the results,” he said.

Meanwhile, NEC directed the General Federation Accountant General to accelerate the release of funds for the national polio immunization campaign round to ensure smooth training. The council also encourages partners to use technology in strengthening the supervision and monitoring system for routine immunization throughout the country.
