New York: Forbes magazine awards Zulum with the “Best of Africa Leadership Excellence Award”

 

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has been awarded the 2024 Forbes Magazine Best of Africa Leadership Excellence Award.

Forbes is a global media company focused on business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership and lifestyle.

Forbes magazine’s “Best of Africa Leadership Excellence Award” recognizes leaders who exemplify integrity, innovation and impact.

The award was presented on Friday by Steve Forbes, president of Integrated Whale Media Investments and owner of Forbes magazine, at Forbes House in New York, USA.

Zulum, who was unable to personally attend the event due to the devastating floods that hit Maiduguri, was represented by his Chief Advisor and Coordinator for Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Response, Dr Mairo Mandara.

Zulum expressed gratitude to the award organizers, saying: “I am deeply honored to accept this award. We are proud of our achievements and are confident that we can build on these successes to make an even greater impact.”

Before now, Zulum was awarded the national honor of Nigeria as Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON, by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022; President Mohammed Bazoum of the Republic of Niger in 2021, had awarded him with the country’s Second National Order of Honour, “de Grand Officer Dans I`Ordre”, which is the equivalent of the Grand Commander of the Order of Niger, GCON, in Nigeria’s national honors list.
