NGE Convention elects the new leadership, Eze Anaba gets a new mandate – Thage

On Friday the Guild Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) has elected new officers to pilot the affairs of the guild for the next two years, re -emerging Mr. Eze Anaba as president during his 2025 biennial convention held at the International Conference Center, Enugu.

Anaba, who is the editor in chief of Avant -garde The newspaper was returned without opposition, ensuring a second mandate as President of the Union.

Also elected was the CEO of The sun Il Giornale, Onuoha Ukeh, emerged as the general secretary after the poll 98 votes to defeat Wole Sogunle and Qasim Akinreti, who obtained 45 and 30 votes respectively.

In the race for the vice -president, Sabastine Abu scored 175 votes to defeat Mohammed Sunusi Jubrin, who obtained 110 votes.

Other elected officers included Kabir Alabi, Hamza Idris and Sheddy Ozone as vice presidents.

Iyobosa Uwudgen was elected treasurer, while Gabriel Fulajimi Akinadewo won the position of secretary assistant. Charles Kalu has been returned as an advertising.

The members elected in the permanent committee from the various areas across the country included Umoru Ibrahim and Paulyn Ugbodaga, to the north; Rose Moses, Ejiro Umukoro, Olabisi Deji-Folutile, Juliet Bumah, West; Chindu Max Egere and Ikpong Essien-Udoh, South.

The convention, which attracted about 400 editors from the whole country, was declared open by the governor of the state of Enugu, dr. Peter Mbah.

The event was honored by illustrious media veterans including the founder of television channels, Dr. John Momoh; Former Governor of the State of Ogun, Capo Segun Oosoba; Former President of the NDDC, Capo Onyeama Ugochukwu; And former presidential spokesperson, sticker.
