NGX: AIICO, University Press Propel Investors to N479BN Gain

Investors at Nigeria’s equity brought home the N479 billion as an advantage at the close of trade on Thursday.

This follows the surge in stock prices such as AIICO Insurance PLC, University Press, and AXA Mansard Insurance PLC, among others, on the trading floor.

The Benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) rose to 146,570.71 points from 145,813.86 points recorded on the previous day.

After five hours of trading in the capital market, the capitalization of equity increased to N92,730 trillion from N92,251 trillion posted by Bourse on Wednesday.

The extent of the positive market, with 44 advanced shares, 34 shares declined, and the remaining 66 shares did not change in 35,291 offers.

AIICO, University Press, and AXA Mansard Insurance PLC leads other strengthening with 10% growth in the price closed at N3.19, N5.61, and N13.31 from N2.90, N5.10, and N12.10 per previous share.

Chams PLC, Austin Laz & Company, and Caverton Offshore Support Group lead other prices with 9.94%, 9.83%, and 9.65%of stock price declines to be closed on N2.90, N2.1,1, and N6.37 of the previous N3.22, N2.34, and N7.05 per share per share.

In the volume index, Linkage Assurance led trade with 372 million shares in 774 agreements, followed by the Prestige Assurance Company, which was traded 249 million shares in 313 agreements.

Veritas Capital Assurance PLC traded 181 million shares in 789 agreements.

In the value index, Stocks Trust Trust Holding (GTCO) which is traded worth N2.9 billion in 1,035 offers, followed by Zenith Bank PLC, which trades the equity of N2.8 billion in 1,182 offers.

Dangote Cement shares traded worth N2.7 billion in 781 agreements.
