The federal government of Nigeria offers its congratulations to the government and the people of the Republic of Malawi for the success and peaceful inauguration of its excellence, Peter Mutharika, as a seventh President of the Republic of Malawi on Saturday 4 October 2025, in the capital of the nation, Blandyre.

This historical opportunity, following a democratic electoral process, is a testimony of the resilience of the democratic institutions of Malawi and the will of his people. Therefore, Nigeria praises the people of Malawi for their commitment to the principles of democracy, the peaceful transition of power and supporting the rule of law.
