Thousands of Nigerians on Monday took to the streets of Abuja to protest the unbearable hardship and hunger caused by the economic policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Protesters carrying banners, urged the Federal Government to reverse some of its policies that have impoverished the people.
They also called on government officials, political officials and members of parliament to reduce their lavish lifestyles in line with the current realities in the country.
A post on X by a user with the account X_Daily accompanied by a video of the protest read:
“Protesters take to the streets to protest the hardships of life in Nigeria. A group of Nigerians took to the streets to protest the high cost of living in Nigeria.”

Former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani also confirmed the protest in a post on his verified X account.
He wrote:
“I just passed a group of protesters in Wuse 2, who were carrying placards against ‘hunger in the country.
“Some of the women among them recognized me and shouted, ‘Don’t be an Afro Senator, be that.’
“I said ‘yes, my name is former Senator.’ Then they said ‘Okay, that’s okay.’ So, Akpabio has no permit there.”
