SGFC Athletics Sports Club began the season of the One League of National Division 2025 with an exciting 2-0 victory over Sagamu Rovers at the FC Ebedie stadium in Sagamu, state of Ogun.
The midfielder Alex Isaiah scored the tone early with a goal in the third minute, while Usman Sokyara sealed the victory with a strike in the second half in the 57th minute.
Coach Mohammed Elegbede expressed emotion with his team exhibition, adding that it was a good start and that they would build on this victory before their next game against Ijebu Athletics SC.
“We are excited with the performance of our team. It is a great start of the season and we will take advantage of this impulse. Our next game against Ijebu Athletics SC will be difficult, but we are sure of our skills. This victory gives us the impulse we need to assume the challenge.”
