A member of the Chamber of Representatives, which represents Abeokuta South, Hon. Afolabi Moruf Afuape, accused Nigerian students of embracing the discipline and hard work as the only path to success, underlining that there is no shortcut for size.
AFUAPE, gave the assignment during the 4th edition of the support initiative for the Afolabi Afuan Afuan Education held at the Rev. Kuti Memorial Grammar School and the Elementary School of San Pietro, Abekuta.
By contacting hundreds of students who participated in the free summer coaching organized within the regime, the legislator, an economist, personally taught international trade, which describe the topic as a key engine of economic development.
“There is no escape route in life except hard work,” said Afuapes to students, exhorting them to concentrate on their studies and avoid distractions that could make their future derail.
The legislator explained that the initiative was not a political expedient, but an effort deliberated to support children from less privileged contexts that may not be able to afford private summer lessons.
“Most parents may not have the opportunity to send their children to summer lessons paid. That’s why we created this platform and, for four years, we continued to support it,” he added.
Teachers and students who spoke to the platform expressed appreciation for the program, describing it as an impact and that changes life.
A senior teacher of the Unity High School, Mrs. Akinu Adenike, said that the program gave participating students an advantage over their peers. However, he asked for more advertising so that more parents and pupils could benefit from it.
Likewise, a student of Abeokuta Grammar School, Akintade Tijesuni Susana, said that the initiative has reduced the burden for the parents.
“Some parents cannot afford it. I know how much my friends pay for summer lessons outside. This makes me appreciate this program and its organizers more,” he said.
Participants described the practical teaching approach of Afuape as a stimulating and rare, observing that his presence showed leadership beyond politics.
Since its institution, the support initiative for Afolabi Moruf education has continued to fill the educational gaps in Abeokuta South, promoting a culture of discipline, learning and leadership among young people.
